Altan band portrait This Yorkshire-based group reveled in the craggy, untamed Northern English folk tunes of Leeds, York and environs. An acquired taste, for sure, but great stuff if you get on its wavelength. Initially recording as a duo, Derek Elliott and Dorothy Elliott later brought their daughter Nadine into the act, creating the "Yorkshire Relish" band, which then expanded into a quartet with the inclusion of squeezeboxer Chris Parkinson, Their albums are a little hard to sort out, though, as they recorded both as Yorkshire Relish and under their own names... Here's an attempt to sort things out...
