With a career dating back to the early 1970s, German honkytonker Hermann Lammers Meyer is one of Europe's most devoted and knowledgeable country artists. A bandleader, label owner and music promoter, he started out in the band Emsland Hillbillies, a group from his hometown of Aschendorf, near Bremen, and went "solo" later on, though he often was working with the same group of musicians. He went on to become one of Germany's most ardent supporters of local indie artists, giving a platform to some pretty obscure folks. He also made several recording forays in Nashville, and reached out to a number of older American country stars, notably singer Norma Jean with whom he released a few late-career records. Here's a quick look at his work...

A compilation album recorded on one of his many pilgrimages to Nashville... Among those guests is 'Sixties country queen Norma Jean, who contributes a couple of tracks -- reprises of her big hit "Let's Go All The Way" and Porter Wagoner's goofy chestnut, "Company's Comin'."
